Barcelona, September 29, 2025
On September 29, the Sanvisens classroom at the Faculty of Education of the University of Barcelona hosted the conference Forms of Involvement of Adolescents and Young People: Ideas, Demands, and Political Positions, delivered by Professor Pedro Núñez from the University of Buenos Aires.
Academic coordinator of the Doctoral Program at the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), where he also leads the Study Group on Citizenship, Educational Transition, and Coexistence (GECITEC), Núñez delved into the analysis of the various forms of involvement and participation of adolescents and young people in Argentina. He focused on spaces shaped by politics, such as secondary and university education, the simultaneity of offline and online participation among youth, and their distancing from institutional democracy, marked by a polarization that is not only ideological but also emotional.
Attendees had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the professor on these and other topics, such as the role of educators in these participatory processes, possible ways to facilitate youth involvement, and the differences and parallels with the educational context in Catalonia.
This conference was part of the WeTakePart project, funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and was jointly organized by Anna Novella from the Moral Education Research Group (GREM) and Asun Llena from the Social Pedagogy Group (GPS) of the Department of Theory and History of Education.
