Between August 7 and 9, the 51st Annual Conference of the Association for Moral Education, held under the theme “Caring About and For Others: Teaching & Learning to Care”, brought together researchers and educators from around the world at the University of Tampere, Finland.
As part of the official program—which included plenary sessions, presentations, symposia, and posters—several members of the Moral Education Research Group (GREM) (Laura Fontan, Eric Ortega, Maria Rosa Buxarrais, Laia Ferrús, and Elena Noguera) emphasized the significance of “caring” as an ethical and educational foundation, presenting their respective papers.
The circle of care in child-led participation. Laia Ferrús Vicente, Ana Novella Cámara & Elena Noguera Pigem.
Intersections between children's rights and care in participatory childhood experiences: A relational model. Ana Novella Cámara, Laia Ferrús Vicente, Elena Noguera Pigem & Maria Rosa Buxarrais Estrada
Tact and Exemplarity: Neighbouring Pedagogical Phenomena? Eric Ortega González.
Education in and for caring: guidelines for moral education in schools. Laura Fontán de Bedout & Amanda Aliende Matta.
These types of contributions are not isolated acts, but rather an affirmation of GREM’s ongoing commitment to moral education, exploring how learning to care is interwoven with justice, the ethics of care, and everyday morality — central themes of the conference.
